Bandits rob businessman, shoot customer

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - IN a daring daylight robbery, two masked bandits robbed the proprietor of a business establishment in Fig Tree and shot a male customer durin the process.

According to a police communiqué, sometime after 3:00 p.m. on Friday (Mar. 18), officers received a report of the incident and several units had responded.

Preliminary investigations revealed that two masked men, one armed with a firearm, ran into the establishment and demanded money.

The proprietor handed over the cash pan which contained an undisclosed sum of money and the armed bandit shot and injured Keston Bradshaw of Newton Ground in his arm before both of them fled the scene. Bradshaw is warded at the JNF General Hospital in a stable condition. Personnel from the Forensic Department visited and processed the scene. As investigations continue, the police are urging persons with information regarding this matter to contact the Violent Crime Unit at 467-1887, 467-1888, 662-3468, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 707, where the information could be given anonymously.
