More details on Nevis shooting incident

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - POLICE have provided more details regarding Monday’s (Mar. 21) shooting incident in Nevis that left an injured Devon Parris hospitalised.

According to a police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that Parris, who resides in Stoney Grove, was at that time driving his motor jeep when a number of unidentified assailants began shooting at him in the vicinity of Prospect Gap.

As a result, he received an abrasion and a gunshot wound to the side of his chest and was transported to the Alexandra Hospital, where he is warded in a stable condition.

Fortunately however, a seven-month-old baby, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the incident, was unharmed. Personnel from the Forensic Department had processed the scene and collected items of evidential value.

As investigations continue, the police are urging persons with information about this incident to contact the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline at 707.
